A Bacoor City court has issued an arrest warrant for actor Archie Alemania in connection with an acts of lasciviousness complaint filed by actress Rita Daniela.
The warrant, dated March 18, 2025, allows Alemania to post bail of ₱36,000 if he is apprehended.
The court found enough evidence to move forward with the trial.
Alemania is currently at large, prompting the court to issue the warrant.
Rita Daniela’s lawyer, Atty. Maggie Abraham-Garduque, shared hopes for Alemania’s quick arrest to start the court proceedings.
She said that Daniela is seeking justice for what happened.
The incident reportedly took place in September 2024 after a Thanksgiving party.
Daniela claims that Alemania made inappropriate comments during the event and later offered her a ride home.
She alleges that during the ride, he kissed and touched her without her consent.
Daniela filed a complaint in October 2024.
By March 2025, Bacoor prosecutors decided there was enough evidence to recommend charges under Article 336 of the Revised Penal Code.
Alemania denied the accusations in a statement he filed in December 2024.
His side has not yet commented on the recent arrest warrant.
Atty. Abraham-Garduque noted that Daniela is currently undergoing treatment for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and the judicial system’s swift action aids in her healing process.
Under Article 336 of the Revised Penal Code, acts of lasciviousness can be punishable by prison correctional (imprisonment ranging from 6 months to 6 years), depending on the circumstances.
Once Alemania is apprehended or posts bail, the court will set a schedule for the trial. Both parties will present evidence and testimonies, and the court will render a decision based on the findings.
Since acts of lasciviousness is a criminal offense, the case is now under the jurisdiction of the prosecution and the court. Even if Rita Daniela decides to withdraw her complaint, the government can still pursue the case if there is strong evidence.
