According to PAGASA, the majority of the country will experience cloudy skies and isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the northeast monsoon on Monday, January 22.
The weather bureau forecasts cloudy skies with light rains over Apayao, Batanes, and Cagayan, including the Babuyan Islands, according to its 4:00 a.m. bulletin. PAGASA states that this weather event is not expected to cause a significant impact.
Metro Manila, the Ilocos Region, Central Luzon, CALABARZON, and the rest of the Cagayan Valley and Cordillera Administrative Region will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains. However, this weather condition is not expected to significantly affect these areas.
The rest of the country will see partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms.
PAGASA stated that the risk of flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms will continue to persist across the archipelago.
Meanwhile, PAGASA’s Wind and Coastal Water forecast shows that the Northern Luzon will experience strong northeast winds, causing rough coastal water conditions (2.8 to 4.0 meters), while the rest of the country will experience moderate to strong east to northeast winds, leading to moderate to rough coastal waters (1.2 to 3.1 meters).
