Recently, a nuptial in Cagayan de Oro (CDO), Philippines, became the center of controversy due to allegations involving “gilumay” (a Filipino term for love potion) and a potential scam.

The controversy started when a couple rushed to plan their wedding, booking suppliers only two days before the big day.

This last-minute preparation made the organizers uneasy, especially since payments were delayed.

On the wedding day, the groom reportedly seemed out of it, as if he was in a trance. This led some guests to believe that he was under the influence of a love potion.

Things got stranger when the groom “snapped out of it” after being thrown some salt to him and stopped the wedding from happening.

Adding to the drama, the bride allegedly claimed to be the niece of a senator and a friend of several Davao vloggers.

However, her inconsistent stories and exaggerated claims led many to doubt her credibility.

Especially when none of her supposed high-profile connections showed up to support her joyous moment.

As the chaos unfolded, it was revealed that wedding suppliers had not been paid.

With total unpaid expenses reaching approximately Php 500,000, covering food, venue, decorations, and entertainment.

Authorities intervened, detaining the bride for questioning.

After spending a night in detention, she was released.
