City Health Officials announced seven new positive cases for coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Cagayan de Oro on Wednesday, August 26.
In today’s press briefing, City Health Officer Dr. Lorraine Nery reported seven new COVID-19 confirmed cases, of which three are locally stranded individuals (LSIs), two are returning overseas Filipino (ROFs) workers, and two local cases (one local Authorized Persons Outside Residence).
The total cumulative cases for COVID-19 in the city is 262.
Out of the cumulative total, 87 or 33.20 percent are active cases, three currently admitted at Northern Mindanao Medical Center (NMMC), 15 outpatients staying at the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility (TTMF), and 69 cases under the ROF/LSI category.
Dr. Nery also announced five new recoveries, bringing the total recovery count to 166 (63.35%), while deaths remain at nine (3.4%).
Of the 266 cumulative total, 208 are under the LSI/ROF category, constituting 79.38 percent, with 69 active cases and 139 recovered. Meanwhile, local cases rise to 54 including the two additional cases, bringing the total percentage to 20.61 percent, with 15 active cases, nine deaths, and 27 recovered.
City Epidemiologist Dr. Joselito Retuya, on the other hand, reported the latest COVID-19 status in the city, starting with the repeat swab results of patients from the TTMF.

Exposed to COVID-positive Case 242 at the workplace on August 17

Dr. Retuya also reported three retagged COVID-positive cases: a 38-year-old male APOR from Laguna, 41-year-old male APOR from Cebu, and 80-year-old male from Lanao del Sur. The COVID-positive case from Lanao del Sur, unfortunately, expired while undergoing treatment at NMMC.
Moreover, the City Epidemiologist also announced five new recovered cases in the city, namely:

158th Case: 34-year-old female, LSI from Sta Mesa; tested negative on 3rd swab
179th Case: 31-year-old female, ROF from the Middle East; tested negative on 2nd swab
180th Case: 65 female, ROF from New York; tested negative on 2nd swab
37 female LSI; tested negative
Selected areas in Carmen, Camaman-an, and Gusa remain contained where COVID-positive patients reside, while active health surveillance team continues to monitor the area. Moreover, a new focus containment area has been announced where the 262nd case resides in Indahag. Check out the map below.
