Cassandra Ong is one of Alice Guo’s companions who fled the Philippines but were caught in Indonesia. In her return to the Philippines she is being questioned by the House of Representatives for her participation in the allegations against Guo and companions.

Lawmakers question Cassandra Li Ong for her link to the Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) in Porac, Lucky South 99. They even offered her a witness protection deal so she could name those involved in the case. However, the twenty-four-year-old won’t budge.

Cassandra Ong left the country with Alice and Sheila Guo. However, her and Sheila were quickly caught by Indonesian law enforcement. On the other hand, Indonesian forces caught Alice on September 3, late in the evening.

Additionally, when law enforcement caught Sheila and Cassandra (or Cassie). It was revealed that Ong is the girlfriend of Wesley Guo. Sheila also said that Alice is not actually her sister.

A nearly twenty-five-minute clip shared by ABS-CBN News’ YouTube channel shows the Congressmen’s evident frustration towards Ong. At one point, Lanao del Sur 1st District Rep., Zia Alonto Adiong called her out. “Masyado kang pa-cute!” He said.

Rep. Adiong no longer hid his frustrations towards the resource speaker. His call out resulted from her not allowing congressmen to finish their questions and with her not answering them directly. Adiong also said, “We cannot allow this kind of attitude from Ms. Ong. allow the members to finish their question, okay?”

Many questions still remain about ‘Who is Cassandra Li Ong?’ During the hearing, she repeatedly avoided fully answering them. When asked about her connections with the POGO, her common response was that she has no official ties to them. She simply says she is only an “authorized representative.”

Also, when asked about her financial contributions to Lucky South, she claims that she has no idea how much. Lawmakers asked her for a ballpark figure, which she says she isn’t sure of. However, they pointed out that it’s impossible, considering how much these investments can cost. She also has no idea how much income Whirlwind Corporation generates.

Rep. Jonathan Keith Flores asked her, ‘What are you sure of, Ms. Ong?’ At one point, he even joked that her answers were very similar to, ‘Lumaki po ako sa farm.’

Ong also repeatedly asks for her lawyer’s advice when asked with a difficult or serious query. Rep. Flores also asked her to secure the proper documents for her following hearing.

Moreover, Rep. Bienvenido M. Abante Jr. asked her about her background. Ong didn’t initially answer questions about her schooling. She said that she was ashamed that she didn’t finish school and only completed elementary.

To this, Rep. Abante said, “Ang galing mong sumagot, ang galing mong paikutin kami dito. Ngayon lang ako nakakita Mr. Chair. Ng isang babaeng twenty-four years old na walang pinag-aralan, drop-out, na nakakasagot ng kaniyang klaseng sagot sa hearing nato.”
