Carlos Yulo Acknowledges Father in Manila Parade for Filipino Olympic Athletes

Carlos Yulo thanked his father, Mark Andrew Yulo, for attending the Manila Parade for Filipino Olympians.

This is a touching matter for Filipinos across the world. The athlete’s family business was quickly aired after Carlos Yulo won two gold medals in the Paris 2024 Olympics.

The gold medalist’s family members have shared their opinions on the situation with the public. However, his issues were mainly with his mother.

Angelica, Carlos Yulo’s mother, shared multiple social media posts that didn’t favor her son’s status in the Olympics. As a result, many users figured out that they were not on good terms.

Carlos Yulo’s father, on the other hand, shows Filipinos a different perspective. He publicly praised his son for his international accomplishments. He gave interviews praising his son for his double Olympic medals in gymnastics.

Carlos Yulo took to social media to thank his father. In his Facebook post, he wrote “Maraming salamat Pa, masaya ako nakita kita don nakasuporta! Pasensya na po hindi ako masyado nakakaway, ang daming nag pa autograph hehe 😅

Kitakits soon Pa Mark Andrew Yulo.”

Despite the athletes’ families not being allowed to ride the floats, Mark ensured Carlos saw him in the parade. During the celebration of the country’s athletes, the patriarch was seen as very happy for his son. He also had a banner saying, “Caloy dito papa mo!”

This interaction between father and son showed mutual love and respect. Additionally, Mark’s support for his son touched many Filipinos.

Multiple netizens praised Mark for his efforts to congratulate his son. However, many also criticized the young athlete for the interaction. Several commenters asked why he didn’t allow his father to join him. Parade arrangements did not include family members on the float; it was mainly for the athletes.

The parade with Carlos Yulo and other Filipino Olympians concluded at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum (RMC) for a program.
