K-Pop star J-Hope has completed his mandatory military service. He is now the second BTS member to be discharged from the army.

The K-pop megastar greeted both fans and reporters who were waiting outside the 36th Army Infantry Division boot camp in Wonju. They even put a life-size cut-out dancing outside the base as their way of congratulating him. His fellow member Jin was also among those present to greet his return.

The other members — RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook — are still fulfilling their military service.

“During the past year and six months, I realized that many soldiers in the military are making great efforts and sacrifices to protect the country,”  J-Hope voiced out to the present audience.

“I think it would be even more meaningful if the public showed such warm interest and love. Thank you for your great support, encouragement, and love. I’ve been discharged healthy and well.”

Even as he entered the black van, he continued to show his appreciation to the fans by blowing kisses through the window until the vehicle drove away. Now that J-Hope has been discharged from the military, he is expected to resume individual activities, much to the fans’ excitement.

In South Korea, all able-bodied men are required to serve between 18 and 21 months in the military. J-Hope began his service on April 18, 2023. During that time, he hadn’t joined his fellow BTS members in live shows. However, prior to his enlistment, he did release his solo album “Jack in the Box.”

Fans at the time were thrilled upon hearing the news of J-Hope’s military release. Sources even indicated that they had around 50 admirers. Including international fans, arrived at the base in the early morning. A groupd of Japanese fans have even rented a bus just to get to see their idol.

Netizens even took to social media to spread the now-trending news.
