MANILA, PHILIPPINES — Press Secretary Trixie Cruz-Angeles announced on Friday that President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. tested positive for COVID-19 through an antigen test.
Cruz-Angeles reported in a briefing that Marcos has a slight fever.
“The President has tested positive in an antigen test for COVID-19. He has a slight fever, but he is otherwise okay,” Cruz-Angeles said.
She and Executive Secretary Vic Rodriguez, who had close contact with the president, fortunately have negative results via antigen test, Cruz-Angeles reports.
This is the second time that Marcos had COVID-19. His last bout of the disease was back in 2020.
