BLOOM @Carmen Art District will have a soft opening on March 8 Saturday @4pm in time for International Working Women’s Day in Cagayan de Oro City Mindanao with performances by Indie CDO. Everyone is invited.
The upcoming BLOOM 2025 Art Exhibition, “WOMENSCAPES”, A Feminist Reframing, marks the 21st show/year of BLOOM, a women’s collective of artists in the Philippines. BLOOM exhibitions are mounted with the transformative power of art in nation-building and women empowerment always in mind. Past BLOOM exhibitions’ dedication to promoting women’s voices through art keeps the group inspired to continue in more years to come. For the first time in the 21-year history of BLOOM, the exhibit will be held in Visayas and Mindanao.
“Womenscapes” showcases the diverse perspectives and experiences of women artists in the Philippines. This collective (BLOOM annual women exhibitions) honors the strength, resilience, and creativity of women, highlighting their contributions to the Philippine art landscape. Through various mediums, the artists explore themes of identity, empowerment, and social justice, inviting viewers to immerse themselves in the intricate tapestry of women’s lives.
Resilience and Resistance
“Womenscapes” embodies the unyielding spirit of Philippine women artists, united against tyranny, oppression, and environmental degradation. This collective exhibition also serves as a powerful rebuke to corruption, inequality, and social injustice; to confront the erosion of democratic values, highlighting women’s struggles and triumphs.
The collective art pieces put together in this exhibition celebrate women empowerment to symbolize the fight for environmental preservation; the female figures embody resistance, strength, and solidarity.
