As the BINI girls rise to stardom, they proudly represented Philippine Pop (P-Pop) music at the recent KCON LA event. This three-day festival showcased top K-Pop acts like ENHYPEN and NCT 127, making BINI the first P-Pop group to participate.

In addition to their performance, the girls took part in a special convention panel titled “Meet the Rising Stars: BINI.” This is a significant milestone for Philippine music, as KCON is one of the largest K-Pop festivals in the world.

Initially, the panel had only scheduled the girls to appear. However, after extensive negotiations, the organizers selected them as a pre-show act. The panel discussed their participation in the convention and explored the intersection of K-Pop and P-Pop music.

Lai Frances, the KCON LA moderator and panelist, expressed her desire for the girl group’s success. Once their appearance was confirmed, she remarked, “It felt like everything fell into place. I know Sheena is a fan of ENHYPEN, and so is Colet. And they’re performing on the same day. I know that Sophia (Laforteza) from KATSEYE is Filipina herself, and she’s going to be on Day 3. I want them to meet.”

During the panel, the girls not only shared their experiences and journey as a group but also highlighted Filipino culture. In a clip shared on X (formerly Twitter), BINI’s Sheena delighted fans by teaching them her iconic catchphrase, “Eyyy!”

She remarked, “In the Philippines it’s our thing we do this, and we say ‘eyyy’ 🤙.” She topped it off with a joke: “L-Eyyy.”

Lai emphasizes that the convention provides a valuable experience for the girls, allowing them to “feel good as guests and attendees.” She hopes this will enhance their journey as a P-Pop act.

However, their appearance was not without its challenges. The eight-member girl group performed with only seven members, as BINI’s leader, Jhoanna, arrived in Los Angeles but was unable to perform due to health issues that arose upon their arrival in the States.

Although it has been a few days since BINI’s performance at KCON LA, they continue to dominate trending charts on social media due to their appearance.
