The BINI documentary is finally available for viewers to watch on iWantTFC. The over-hour episode showcases the Nation’s Girl Group’s triumphs and challenges. From their audition to their successful three-day BINIverse concert at the New Frontier Theater, it’s all covered in the first installment of the series.
“Chapter 1: Born To Win” was directed by Jet Leyco, with prominent journalist Jeff Canoy as its documentarist. The docuseries revealed that it was supposed to be a five-member group. However, the OT8 girls had so much chemistry that the management couldn’t break them up.
It shared the girls’ experiences during their preparation and their Korean training days. During this period, many of them wanted to give up because it was tough. However, all the BINI members persevered and received recognition for their efforts.
The BINI documentary starts with clips from the girls’ Star Hunt Academy days when they were still trainees in 2019. They shared that they always had their sights on performing and the limelight. However, some of them, like Colet, had to come out of their shells.

The two biggest challenges they faced before their debut were the ABS-CBN shutdown and the pandemic. The people behind the project also found it very difficult to navigate. However, they said that they’re still going through with the project.
Maloi shared that during the announcement of the network’s shut down, they all laid down in a circle and cried their hearts out. During that moment, they all let their emotions out as they held each other’s hands.
One of the moments fans and casuals looked forward to the most was Aiah’s vulnerability in the teaser. In the clip, she was seen breaking down before BINIverse Day 1. Jhoanna quickly rushed to her side to assure her and held her hand until the curtain opened.
Aiah shared that it happened after BINI day. She, herself, was shocked by what transpired since she was still very bubbly before the event. Jhoanna said that Aiah held onto her really tightly after the event, leaning for comfort.

The BINI documentary highlighted her resilience as she was able to perform normally despite having a breakdown seconds before. Additionally, it also showed Gwen’s struggles during the BINIverse concert.
Gwen felt extremely under the weather that she had fainting spells during her breaks. The staff and management worried so much for her that they had an ambulance on standby. However, Gwen chose to persevere and continue with her performance.
On Gwen’s health during the concert, Jhoanna couldn’t help but be brought to tears. She said that if she could’ve taken Gwen’s pain away, she would’ve done it herself.
