Actor and content creator, Benedict Cua, opens up about his reflection on his life and choices made.
In his YouTube vlog titled Balancing life as a parent, friend, and content creator, Cua answers a fan question, “What would you do if you could turn back time?”.
“I feel like I could have done more,” he answered.
The actor explained he could have found time to do things like study abroad or live in foreign places he liked. He also added that he could have done business while juggling content creation.
“Ang dami ko sigurong narating kung nakinig ako sa puso ko,” he reflected.
He added, “Kung ‘di ko pinakinggan lahat nung nasa isip ko, lahat nung guilt ko na nilagay ko sa sarili ko. Ang dami ko sigurong na-achieve.”
Cua affirmed that he’s not the only person who experienced these things. He also admitted that self-doubts play a factor in holding him back from taking risks on such matters.

Nevertheless, the content creator eventually learned that “it doesn’t hurt to listen to your heart.”
Apart from his sentiments, Cua also shared his vulnerabilities.
“Toxic trait ko kasi ‘yung lagi kong nafi-feel na responsibilidad ko yung lahat ng nasa paligid ko, ‘yung mga mahal ko sa buhay,” he said, “and there’s nothing wrong with that.”
But the actor also expressed that carrying such responsibilities in the long run would make a person exhausted and lose motivation.
“It would seem like you have a lot to give, but ‘di mo nare-realize na you get empty too.” Cua remarked.
He elaborated that if he always follows his desires, there’s a feeling of guilt when he thinks of his loved ones. The worst part about it is these thoughts were self-inflicted.
“I could have soared higher without feeling guilty.,” he said.

Regardless of the “what ifs,” Cua acknowledged there’s no point in thinking about things that have already passed. He learned a lot in his experiences, and it shaped him into who he is.
He shared that regrets are always there, but what’s important is doing one’s best and that’s enough.
Ultimately, Benedict Cua’s honest introspection serves as a reminder that while regrets may linger, embracing personal growth and striving for one’s best are the keys to a fulfilling life.
