Cat Arambulo-Antonio’s now-deleted post triggered online backlash for its insensitivity towards the current situation regarding Bagyong Carina.

Actress Bela Padilla also addressed the issue in an Instagram story, stating, “You see people risking their lives for their loved ones and your question is if you and your kids can use a floatie here? Come on. Could’ve been a nice teaching moments for your kids but 🤷”

The Philippines is currently facing the devastating impacts of Bagyong Carina, resulting in the displacement and rescue of numerous citizens from flooded areas. In a now-deleted TikTok video, Cat Arambulo-Antonio captures her children experiencing a flood for the first time from the safety of their vehicle.



In the video, the social media personality expresses her surprise, saying, “Wow, what is this!” One of her children enthusiastically adds, “Mommy you know what you could do? You could get a floatie and if there are no cars you can put it then you can *inaudible*.”

Cat responds, “Safe ba kayang mag floatie diyan yaya? I guess so, it’s just water. Should we try? We should wakeboard!” This prompted backlash online, with many criticizing her for being insensitive during such a challenging time.

In addition to this, netizens have expressed their disbelief, stating, “I refuse to believe na kahit lumaki kang mayaman, as an adult you don’t know the dangers of flood waters.” The actress from “100 Tula Para Kay Stella” also shared her thoughts on the matter.



Beyond the current issues, Cat gained attention during the pandemic for her remarks about jeepney drivers, questioning why they weren’t protesting from home. Since then, many have viewed her as “out of touch.”
