Hollywood actor Armie Hammer announced on Instagram that he’s selling his beloved pickup truck. He’s doing so because he can no longer afford its gas.
According to the actor, he bought his black pickup truck in 2017 as a Christmas gift to himself.
“I have loved this truck intensely and taken it camping and across country multiple times and on long road trips,” Hammer said in his Instagram post.
“And I took it for one last road trip to CarMax. This is not an ad for CarMax. This is because I’m selling my truck,” he added.

Armie Hammer also added that since he’s back living in Los Angeles, “I have to put about four or $500 worth of gas in it, and I can’t afford it. I can’t afford the gas anymore.”
“But you know what? That’s okay. I got a new car. It’s tiny. It’s a hybrid. I’m probably gonna put about 10 bucks of gas in it a month, and this is it,” he said, adding, “Here’s to new beginnings. It’s my birthday tomorrow.”
The actor continued, “It’s my birthday [on] August 28. I will be starting my birthday in a new car, in a new apartment, in a new life in Los Angeles.”
He then recalled the great memories he made with the truck, including bringing his “kids home from the hospital” and other “amazing trips.”
Armie Hammer is best known for his roles in the movies ‘Call Me By Your Name’ and ‘The Social Network.’

Although Armie Hammer didn’t reveal why he could no longer afford gas for his truck, it’s speculated that it’s due to previous allegations. In 2021, several women came forward, accusing him of physical and sexual abuse. Armie Hammer denied them, but he was already dropped from several projects due to the allegations.
The Los Angeles District Attorney’s office and the Los Angeles Police Department performed an investigation but didn’t pursue criminal charges against him due to insufficient evidence.
