She continued, “And little did I know that after five years, I would be here [as national director].”
Following the announcement, Ara wrote in her Instagram post:
“Grateful and ready! Looking forward to an exciting journey ahead. Thank you so much @themissuniverseph for the trust and opportunity to serve as a National Director. I’m committed to making a positive impact and helping every woman shine on her path to success as they chase their dreams. Let’s make this year an incredible one! 👑”
Arida steps into the role following MUPH President Jonas Gaffud, who concurrently served as national director in the 2024 edition. The position was previously held by Shamcey Supsup-Lee, the 2011 Miss Universe 3rd runner-up, from 2020 until 2023.
The new director also asked asked for everyone’s support in the current MUPH ventures:
“Let’s be more supportive. Let’s be more mindful. Let’s spread kindness and love to all our delegates and all the people around the organization.”
Arida represented the Philippines in Miss Universe 2013 where she placed 3rd runner-up.
