Pastor Apollo Quiboloy has filed a certificate of candidacy (COC) to run for a senatorial post in the 2025 elections.
Despite being charged with multiple cases, including several child abuse and human trafficking cases, his application has been accepted. Commission on Election (COMELEC) chairman George Garcia has confirmed the news.

Additionally, COMELEC spokesperson John Rex Laudiangco confirmed that Quiboloy’s legal counsel, Mark Tolentino, filed his COC.
“He filed through an authorized representative, so his COC was accepted because an authorized representative filed,” Laudiangco stated.
In a separate interview, Mark Tolentino, Quiboloy’s representative, shared how the pastor advocates for the protection of religious freedom.
“The people will campaign for him. Pastor Apollo Quiboloy is running for Senator of the Republic of the Philippines because he wants to be a part of the solution. His platform of government is God-centered, Philippine-centered, and Filipino-centered, and his priority is religious freedom,” Tolentino said.
“Pastor Quiboloy believes religious freedom is inviolable. The government should secure the holy grounds against state forces. Secondly, the poor should be protected, particularly their health, with free medicine and medical services.
Pastor Quiboloy will be the Senator of the poor, ordinary Filipinos. He will be accessible and will be willing to hear them out. He wants quality education and zero corruption,” Tolentino added.

Outside of his multiple criminal charges here in the Philippines, Quiboloy is also under the US radar for conspiracy to engage in sex trafficking by force, fraud, and coercion, to name a few. His ongoing case makes him an unfavorable candidate among netizens.
