Dismissed Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo (real name Guo Hua Ping) was transferred to Pasig City Jail Female Dormitory from the Philippine National Police (PNP) Custodial Center in Camp Crame, Quezon City, on Monday, September 23.

Guo was transported through a convoy that exited Camp Crame at 8:49 AM. She was supposed to be transferred to the Pasig City Jail on Friday, September 20, but the transfer was postponed because the PNP reportedly had to complete several requirements, including her medical assessment.

According to Jail Management and Penology spokesperson Jayrex Bustinera, Alice Guo will share the detention facility with 44 other female inmates. However, reports say the area was only supposed to accommodate 9 detainees.

For security reasons, Guo’s camp hopes that she will remain in the custody of the PNP.

Guo’s transfer was ordered by the Pasig City Regional Trial Court-Branch 167, which is hearing her non-bailable case of qualified human trafficking.

Alice Guo left the country on July 18 despite the arrest order issued by the Senate after she was held in contempt for not attending the hearings on illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming Operations (POGO).

The Tarlac Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 109 also issued a warrant of arrest against Alice Guo on September 5 for allegedly violating the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act.

Guo was finally arrested by Indonesian authorities on September 4 and was deported back to the Philippines on September 6.

Corresponding warrants of arrest will also be issued against her fellow accused, including Huang Zhiyang, Rachelle Joan Malonzo Carreon, Zhang Ruijin, Baoying Lin, Yu Zheng Can, Dennis Lacson Cunanan, Jamielyn Santos Cruz, Roderick Paul Bernardo Pujante, Juan Miguel Alpas, Merlie Joy Manalo Castro, Rita Sapnu Yturralde, Rowena Gonzales Evangelista, Thelma Barrogo Laranan, and Maybelline Requiro Millo.

Meanwhile, Alice Guo’s sister, Cassandra Li Ong, will be sent to the Mandaluyong City Women’s Correctional Facility for refusing to answer lawmakers’ questions about her assets and educational background.
