Alexa Gutierrez, the wife of former child star Elvis Gutierrez, tragically passed away on Saturday, July 27. Her family shared that she bravely fought a short battle with leukemia, a type of blood cancer.
Alexa was just 38 years old. The news was announced by Elvis’ sister, Ruffa Gutierrez, on Instagram on Sunday.
“I am still trying to process and accept that you are no longer with us. It’s so hard… Words cannot express how heartbroken and shocked I am,” Ruffa said in her post. The announcement described Alexa as a “loving mother, wife, daughter, and friend.”

Elvis Guitterez shared a throwback photo of himself and his late wife on his Instagram account on Sunday. The post was left uncaptioned, featuring only a white heart emoji.
In Ruffa’s birthday message to Alexa on July 1, she shared that her sister-in-law has been battling leukemia since early 2024. “Lex, your journey’s been tough (6 months and counting at St. Luke’s Global City) but your bravery inspires us all,” Ruffa said.

Born Alexandra Joelle Uichico, Alexa hailed from the prominent Uichico clan of Iloilo and was a former model before starting on her entrepreneurial journey. She is survived by her husband and their two daughters, Aria and Ezra.
Elvis Gutierrez, son of showbiz royalty Eddie Gutierrez and Annabelle Rama, is the older brother of the well-known twins, actor Richard and host Raymond Gutierrez. Although a child star, he stepped away from the entertainment industry, feeling it wasn’t the right fit for him.
Messages of condolence and sympathy have flooded in for Alexa’s grieving family. Several personalities from the entertainment sector, including Maxene Magalona, Iza Calzado, and Ogie Alcasid, also extended their condolences to the Gutierrez family.
