The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) announced that government employees will start receiving their mid-year bonus on May 15, 2025. 

The bonus amounts to one month’s basic salary starting May 15 and aims to reward public servants for their work and dedication.

A total of ₱63.695 billion has been allocated for the mid-year bonus. 

Of this, ₱47.587 billion is set aside for civilian personnel, while ₱16.108 billion is reserved for uniformed personnel. 

Including members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, Philippine National Police, Bureau of Fire Protection, and Bureau of Jail Management and Penology.

Eligible recipients include all government workers who have served at least four months from July 1, 2024, to May 15, 2025, remain employed as of May 15, and have received at least a satisfactory performance rating in their latest evaluation. 

This covers civilian employees from all branches of government—Executive, Legislative, Judicial—as well as employees of Constitutional Commissions, State Universities and Colleges, Government-Owned or -Controlled Corporations, and local government units.

The DBM released the necessary funds to implementing agencies and local governments in January 2025 to ensure timely payment. 

Budget Secretary Amenah Pangandaman highlighted that releasing the bonus promptly recognizes government workers’ commitment and supports their financial needs. 

Agencies are tasked to coordinate with their employees to ensure smooth and timely distribution.

The mid-year bonus reflects the government’s effort to provide financial benefits to its workforce and boost employee morale during the year’s midpoint.
