Filipina actress Kim Chiu shed tears of overwhelming joy as she delivered her acceptance speech at the 2024 Seoul International Drama Awards. She shared that she had prepared a speech on her phone but was accidentally erased, so she recited her speech all by memory.
“Buti na lang memorize ko na siya by heart,” the actress said.

During the Seoul Drama Awards 2024 presentation, Kim Chiu was presented on the stage alongside several South Korean representatives. She first dedicated her speech to the people who supported her in her 18-year-long career.
“First, my company ABS-CBN, Star Magic Director Lauren, who is here tonight, thank you for always believing in me. To the team behind the show ‘Linlang’ or ‘Deceit.’ Dreamscape Entertainment family, from the creatives, writers, directors, and staff to my co-stars. Without your hard work, guidance, passion, and vision, none of this would be possible.”
“I share this honor with every single one of you,” Chiu concluded in her first part of the speech.
Kim Chiu can barely hold her tears as she recites her speech to the live audience. She gives dedication to her fand.
“To my ever-loving, supporting fans, this award is also for you. Your unconditional love, efforts, and belief in me have always been my source of strength, and for that, I am truly grateful.”

Lastly, Chiu dedicated her award to the late Deo Endinal, the founder of Dreamscape Entertainment. It is at this point that the actress’ voice begins to crack.
“I want to dedicate this honor to the person who is no longer with us. My boss, my mentor, and my dear friend, Sir Deo (Edinal). He is the one who always pushed me to be my best. And he’s the one who always guides me to do the best that I can be. Through hard work and led with kindness, and for that, Sir Deo, I want to honor this award with you.”
Chiu concludes the end of her speech with: “Thank you for this recognition. This is a dream come true for me to represent ABS-CBN and my country, the Philippines. Maraming salamat po.”
Kim Chiu has won the recognition as the Most Outstanding Asian Star at the awards. Awardees for the category include Kim Hye-yoon of South Korea, Desmond Tan of Singapore, Malaysia’s Siti Saleha, and Thailand’s Win Metawin. The actress also thanked Seoul Drama Awards 2024 chairman Bang Moon Shin for the moment.
