PAGASA: LPA now 495 km east-southeast of Davao City

WEATHER UPDATE — According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), the Low-Pressure Area (LPA) being monitored near Mindanao is now 495 km east-southeast of Davao City. Its trough brings rain over Visayas and Mindanao.

The LPA being monitored inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) is currently bringing cloudy skies and rain over Northern Mindanao, Caraga, Davao, and parts of Visayas. At the moment, there are low chances of the LPA turning into a tropical cyclone.

No other LPA is spotted near PAR.

Meanwhile, the Northeast Monsoon or Amihan continue to bring light rains over northern Luzon. The rest of Luzon, including Metro Manila, may expect fair weather conditions with chances of isolated rain showers.

For today’s weather forecast, the Northeast Monsoon brings cloudy skies and light rains over Cagayan Valley, Cordillera, Aurora, Quezon Province, Bicol Region, Marinduque, and Romblon.

The rest of Luzon, including Metro Manila, Palawan, Calabarzon, and Mindoro Provinces, may expect fair weather with chances of light rains due to the Northeast Monsoon.

Most of Visayas is forecast to have cloudy skies and rain due to the trough or extension of the LPA spotted near Mindanao. Temperatures range from 25 degrees Celsius to 31 degrees Celcius.
