Based on the research conducted by Klook Philippines Travel Survey 2026 through interviews with over 11,000 travelers across the globe, including 500 Filipino millennials and Generation Z, the Filipino travel in 2026 indicate that there is a shift in the way Filipinos travel. Gone are the days of long hauls.
But here is what is interesting: this is not about staying home. It is about being smarter about where home is in relation to where you want to go.
The Rise of Closer Destinations: Northeast Asia Dominates
Travelling trends are evident. The Filipinos travel more to places that can be reached by flying in between three to six hours’ flight duration based on the analysis above:
- Northeast Asia (67 percent): Japan, South Korea, China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan
- Southeast Asia (30 percent): Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, and Malaysia
- South Asia and Oceania (3 percent): Australia and New Zealand
