HOLYWOOD, USA — On Monday, April 3, 2023, Warner Bros. Pictures released the first official movie trailer of the highly-anticipated DC Film “Blue Beetle,” DC’s newest superhero.
The film will star Romario Xolo Maridueña, also known as Cobra Kai, who will play the title role and his alter ego, Jaime Reyes.
As shown in the trailer, Jamie returns home to Palmera City after graduating from college. Fate intervenes when he comes into contact with an ancient relic of alien biotechnology known as the Scarab. The Scarab chooses Reyes as its symbiotic host, attaching itself to his spine and bestowing upon him a bio-mechanical blue suit of armor endowed with extraordinary powers.
This movie marks DC’s first film to center on a Latino superhero, with Jaime Reyes’ family as a crucial part of the movie.
Blue Beetle, directed by Angel Manuel Soto, will hit theaters on August 18, 2023.

Marvel Releases’ Secret Invasion’ Trailer
Marvel Studios is back with its latest Marvel series, “Secret Invasion,” starring Samuel L. Jackson, reprising his role as Nick Fury, alongside Emilia Clarke, Olivia Colman, Don Cheadle, Martin Freeman, Ben Mendelsohn, Cobie Smulders, and Kingsley Ben-Adir.
Marvel debuted the trailer during ESPN’s Sunday Night Baseball on April 2.
In Secret Invasion, set in the present-day MCU, Fury “learns of a clandestine invasion of Earth by a faction of shapeshifting Skrulls,” the logline reads. To uncover the conspiracy behind the attack, “Fury joins his allies, including Everett Ross, Maria Hill, and the Skrull Talos, who has made a life for himself on Earth. Together they race against time to thwart an imminent Skrull invasion and save humanity.”
The six-episode series will premiere exclusively on Disney+ on June 21, 2023.

Disney Reveals Live Action of Moana
Announced as a part of the Walt Disney Company 2023 Shareholders Meeting, Moana is getting a live-action remake from Disney.
Moana star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson shared that a live-action reimagining of Moana is in the works.
The film follows the epic adventure of an energetic young girl who is keen to set sail on a daring mission to save the people on her island. It became a big hit for Disney, grossing more than 680M USD, and was nominated for two Academy Awards.
The new film is produced by Johnson, Dany Garcia, and Hiram Garcia via their Seven Bucks Productions and Beau Flynn via Flynn Picture Co. Executive producers include Auli’i Cravalho, who voiced Moana, and Scott Sheldon of Flynn Picture Co. Jared Bush and Dana Ledoux Miller (who is of Samoan heritage) will also take part in the production.
