MANILA, PHILIPPINES —  The Malacanang Palace has declared May 19, 2023 to be a special non-working holiday for the City of Butuan. Signed in March 22, 2023, Proclamation No. 190, declares May 19 as a holiday for the city’s celebration of its Balangay Festival. 

“Whereas, it is but fitting and proper that the people of the City of Butuan be given full opportunity to celebrate and participate in the occasion with appropriate ceremonies,” read Proclamation No. 190.
