SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA — On Thursday, September 22, Belle Mariano attended the glamorous Seoul International Drama Awards 2022 to receive her Oustanding Asian Star award – making history as the first Filipina recipient!

The actress made her way onto the red carpet wearing a pink Filipiniana creation by Francis Libiran. The gown has an off-shoulder neckline and a thigh-high slit.

When Mariano received her award, she made sure to say she was a “proud Filipino” for her introductions and went on to thank her for the important people in her life, including her on-screen partner Donny Pangilinan.

“Thank you for giving me this life-changing opportunity. To my bosses and management, Star Magic and Rise Artist Studio, thank you. Thank you as well for the cast, production crew of ‘He’s Into Her.’ Maraming, maraming salamat. Of course, to my partner Donny Pangilinan, it has been an amazing journey with you. Here’s to more and I share this honor with you,” the actress said.

“Of course, the supporters as well. I will not be here without you guys. Lubos po akong nagpapasalamat sa inyo. And lastly, to the woman who molded me to the woman I am today, my mother, thank you so much. I love you, mahal ko kayong lahat at mabuhay tayong lahat,” she added.

Belle Mariano is one of the five recipients of the award. She topped the previous poll for Outstanding Asian Star from the Philippines at 62.34 percent. Her on-screen partner Donny Pangilinan followed with 27.16 percent; Maris Racal with 4.79 percent; Jodi Sta. Maria with 2.69 percent and Zanjoe Marudo with 2.61 percent.

Sharing the stage with Mariano is Kang Daniel, who won the Outstanding K-pop Idol award, and Japanese actor-singer Yusei Yagi, winner of the Outstanding Asian Star (Japan) award.
